Frequently Asked Questions
1 / Do you take insurance?
We are out-of-network with insurance, which means we do not contract with any insurance company directly. To check your out-of-network benefits, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask what your mental health out-of-network coverage is. While we do not work directly with insurance, we are happy to provide superbills that can be submitted to insurance. Superbills are itemized receipts that include a diagnosis and the services provided. In some cases, because of our specialized training in DBT, we have had success helping clients to be approved for single-case agreements with insurance companies. For more information on this, please contact us and we can guide you through the process.
2 / What are your fees?
Please reach out to us directly for details about fees. We are happy to answer your questions and help you find the best way to begin therapy.
3 / What is the first appointment like?
In the first appointment, the clinician will do a psychosocial evaluation to determine your treatment needs. A clinician can provide a referral for a psychiatrist if needed.
4 / What if I am nervous about starting therapy
It is very natural to feel nervous, especially if this is your first time in therapy. Our role is to create a safe, kind, and understanding space. You set the pace, and we will walk alongside you every step of the way.
5 / How long are sessions?
DBT skills groups are about 60 minutes. Individual and couple sessions are usually 45 minutes.
6 / Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, we provide both online and in person sessions. You can choose the setting that feels most comfortable and accessible for you.
